What’s In It:
For most items I purchase, I always check the ingredients. If there is anything I don’t like or understand, I review the EWG’s Skin Deep site, google or I put the product right back on the shelf. Certain brands I don’t have to worry about, which Nubian heritage is one. According to Nubian Heritage the ingredients for this product are:
Water, decyl glucoside, sodium lauroyl lactylate, disodium coco-glucoside citrate, glycerin (vegetable), fragrance (essential oil blend), panthenol, organic butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, camellia sinensis leaf extract, guar hydrodypropyltrimonium chloride, caprylhydroxamic acid, caprylyl glycol, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, rosa canina (rose hip) seed extract, mauritia flexuosa (buriti) oil, theobroma grandiflorum (cupuacu) butter, pogostemon cablin (patchouli) oil. Natural ingredients may vary in color and consistency.
Patchouli & Buriti Body Wash Ingredients:
Aromatic Patchouli Oil: Sweet, spicy, aphrodisiacal Patchouli essential oil is known for its beneficial effect on oily or maturing skin and hair. Relaxing, uplifting and soothing, Patchouli complements the Amazonian beauty secret, Buriti oil
Burrito Oil: The Buriti palm, known as “the tree of life”, provides food as well as a traditional treatment for skin ailments. Buriti oil’s high Beta-carotene, Vitamin E and Vitamin C content works with essential fatty acids to support collagen production and anti-oxidants while hydrating and comforting the skin.
Organic Shea Butter: Shea butter is used to heal burns, scars, dermatitis, psoriasis and sores, as well as dandruff and stretch marks. It can diminish wrinkles by moisturizing the skin while increasing circulation and promoting cell renewal. It contains cinnamic acid, which helps to protect the skin from harmful UV rays.
VERDICT: 9 (Buy it)
I highly recommend the Nubian Heritage, Patchouli & Buriti Body Wash, and well as the entire line. The bar soap was just as refreshing and nourishing as the body wash. I am a huge fan of the scrub and hand lotion as well. The scent is nice, earthy, pleasant and not over-powerful.
Where to get it: I was sent a few items from the line but I ended up purchasing more because I truly do love it. I purchased the additional shea butter and hand lotion from a local store but the line is in a variety of local stores such as Walmart, Wholefoods and much more. As always many of their products can be found on Amazon , and just recently launched in Ulta. You can check out, which stores and products are closest to you really quickly on their site.
Repurchase: Yes. I plan on buying more from the Nubian Heritage line and keep this one in stock.
